Turkey Day Memories
I know I said there would be a recipe in every blog, but this Facebook post from my friend Sue Black Vowels is hilarious. Enjoy
Memories from Thanksgiving 2010 lol…Happy Thanksgiving to all my family and friends….
I haven’t done Thanksgiving at my house in years nor have I cooked a turkey in years. And Suzy Homemaker I’m not. So today was like doing it for the first time. First I go to undo the legs from the “Handi-Clamp.” Handi-Clamp my ass. I tried for 15 minutes to get the legs undone and they would not come out. So I broke out the needle nose pliers (cuz I couldn’t find my wire cutters). I wrestled another 10 mins and finally got them undone. Now to take the giblets out of the neck. I dug and dug around and could not find them. I then realized I was digging in his ass. So I flipped him over and there they were in the neck. Now to get the neck which you would think is in the neck…but no, it’s in his ass. So I’m searching and searching (and it’s slightly frozen still) and I finally find something hard poking out. Wasn’t sure if it was his neck or if he was just happy to see me. I pulled but I couldn’t get it out. So I YANKED & YANKED & YANKED & finally it CAME out. And I have Kerry (my friend) on the phone laughing at me hysterically. It was a funny way to start my day!!! Now the birds cookin, family’s on the way & a mimosa is calling my name. To my family who can’t be here, I miss & love you…see you at Christmas. To everyone…have a fun & happy day. GOBBLE GOBBLE
